Joshua Henderson
/Joshua Henderson is enjoying a multi-faceted career as a cross-genre violinist, violist, and composer. As a Classical musician he has performed as soloist with the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, China Performing ArtsBroadcasting Troupe, The Starling Chamber Orchestra, Accent X Festival Orchestra, Colour of Music Festival Orchestra, Bard Conductors Festival Orchestra, Contemporaneous, Ensemble Du Monde, The Harlem Chamber Players in venues such as Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, Munich’s Gasteig, and The Forbidden City Concert Hall of Beijing.
As a freelance musician, Josh has performed, recorded, and collaborated with popular artists such as the Sugar Hill Gang, David Byrne, Sufjan Stevens, Anne Hathaway, Courtney Love, Amanda Pamer, Jherek Bischoff and members of Beirut, Deer Hoof, Blue Oyster Cult and The Eagles.
Josh studied at the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music with Kurt Sassmanshaus, and at New York University with Naoka Tanaka. He currently teaches a course on improvisation for classical string majors at NYU and is on the chamber music faculty for the contemporary music for youth program “Face the Music.”
